The fastest way: in the app
You can delete your own account from inside The Mahj Report, without asking anyone.
It happens immediately.
- Open the app and go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
- Type delete my account to confirm, then tap the button.
We ask you to type the words on purpose. This cannot be undone, and there is no
way for us to bring a deleted season back.
If you cannot use the app
If you have lost access to your device, forgotten which email you signed up with,
or simply would rather not install anything, email us and we will do it for you.
hello@themahjreport.com
Tell us the email address on the account. We may ask you to confirm from that
address, because otherwise anyone could delete anyone else's season.
We action deletion requests within 30 days, and
usually within a few days. You do not need an account, a subscription, or the app
installed to make a request.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in details.
- Your groups, and the players, avatars and photos in them.
- Every game night, hand, score and season standing.
- Your date polls and the RSVPs people sent to them.
- Your display name, email address and any preferences.
What we keep, and why
Two things outlive the account, and neither is personal to you:
- Purchase and transaction records. If you ever subscribed, Apple
or Google holds that receipt, not us, and we are required to keep basic records of
the transaction for tax and accounting purposes. It does not contain your game data.
- Anonymous, aggregated counts. Things like how many nights were
scored in a month. These cannot be traced back to you or to anyone at your table.
Cancelling a subscription is a separate thing
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription, because the subscription
lives with your app store rather than with us. Cancel it yourself:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Android: the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then
Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Do that first if you want to stop being billed, then delete the account.
Your players
The people at your table never had accounts. They only ever appear as a name you
typed and, if you added one, a picture. Deleting your account removes all of that.
If someone wants to be taken off your roster without you deleting everything, you can
remove them individually from the Players tab, or email us and we will.
